After a five-year struggle with cancer, Jeffrey Ballard, the seasoned publicist who created Jeff Ballard Public Relations and represented many of the greatest talents in the business, passed away. He was 64.
Brad Bessey, the spokesman for Project Angel Food, an organization Ballard supported throughout his life, reported that he passed away on January 30 at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center.
As my publicist for 37 years, it’s no secret that he had his work cut out for him, Sheen remarked in a statement to Deadline.
He was classy and patient as he took on every task. He was equally devoted and too generous, just like my great friend of forty years. Safe travels, JB; you will always be dearly missed.
As a high school journalism student, Ballard “crashed the set” of the television classic Eight Is Enough and immediately signed his first two clients, Adam Rich and Dick Van Patten, to start his business.
Ballard worked with twenty-four active clients for the business he formed up until his passing.
